Transparency in the U.S. -- Who Can Now Say the Chinese Government is Opaque?

Federal Reserve Board Vice-Chairman Donald Kohn before Congress on the importance of keeping secret the names of the recipients of the American banking bail-out.

I can muster several comments, but will limit myself to one.
I shall invest in banana futures because the United States is now
a bona fide banana republic. We taxpayers will be slipping on
Washington's and Wall Street's peels for a long time to come.
